Energy Advisors
To get Federal rebates you need to get energy audit done by one of the qualified energy advisors.
Energy Advisors work for private companies. Some of the companies are either renovating contractors or connected to renovators. While they are supposed to be impartial, it's not always the case.
If the energy auditor first advises you on home improvements and then asks you to hire his company for those very improvements, you might want to get a second opinion.
Some of the Energy Auditors are not involved in renovations. One of them is non-profit GreenTech Services - 416.220.2401. They are not related to any renovating contractors and provide impartial energy audit.
Who Does What
We will submit your information to Heating & Cooling Incentive program run by OPA - Ontario Power Authority. Your energy adviser will take care of ecoEnergy Rebate run by the Federal Government.
