All 2009 COOL SAVINGS REBATE forms and invoices must had been submitted by February 1, 2010. In the years 2007 and 2008 all rebates were submitted manually. At Cozy World almost 100% of our customers received their rebates. The forms were filled out prior to the installation. The crews were arriving to customers with all the forms ready, and they were already put in stamped and addressed envelopes. Right after the installation had been completed, the envelopes would be mailed. Only ones a customer mailed it too late. That’s why it was almost 100%.
In 2009 OPA switched to online submission. The process was completely new for both OPA and contractors. There was a learning curve. The technical part of COOL SAVINGS REBATE submission process was virtually glitch free. The problem was on the customers side: some customers either did not respond to OPA’s email altogether or did not complete submission. Eventually OPA figured it out. Looking at the list of our customers in the OPA database, fairly close to 100% of our customers are in one of the categories: “Cheque cashed”, “Cheque sent” or at the very least “Approved”.
